BGE Brandon Shore Project

The Brandon Shores Retirement Mitigation Project is a BGE project designed to maintain electric reliability following the retirement of the Brandon Shores generating station. The project includes upgrades to the electric transmission system, including new and improved substations and transmission facilities.

Representatives from BGE attended the Turner Station Conservation Teams (TSCT) Community Meeting on Monday, September 28, 2026, to provide residents with an update on the project and explain how the proposed work will affect the Turner Station Community Gardens.

During the presentation, BGE representatives identified the portion of the Community Gardens that will be affected by the proposed project and explained the planned work and its anticipated impact on the gardens. This provided residents and gardeners with an opportunity to better understand the project and ask questions.

TSCT is committed to keeping the Turner Station community informed throughout this process. The handout posted below is a copy of the BGE presentation provided during the September 28 community meeting and is being shared so residents can review the information presented directly by BGE.

We encourage residents, gardeners, and community members to review the presentation and remain engaged as additional information becomes available regarding the project and the future of the affected portion of the Community Gardens.
